An archaeological museum of a 2,700-year-old fortified settlement of the Lusatian culture. It is an excellent attraction for both adults looking to experience history and for children. The museum is open year-round. From May to September, reconstructions of the daily life of the settlement’s inhabitants are presented, including pottery firing, bronze smelting, fish smoking, pottery making, flint tool production, and the making of tar and tree pitch. The museum also raises Polish horses related to forest tarpans, Wrzosówka sheep, goats, and Polish Red cattle of the lowland breed. Crops such as wheat varieties known to the inhabitants of Lusatian Biskupin, as well as millet, lentils, camelina, and Celtic broad beans, are cultivated. Biskupin also served as the backdrop for the TV series “Tajemnica Sagali” and the films “Stara baśń. Kiedy słońce było bogiem” and the legendary film “Ogniem i Mieczem.”
