The Mouse Tower is situated by the picturesque Lake Gopło, one of the largest lakes in Poland. The 32-meter-high Mouse Tower is the remnant of a castle built by Kazimierz Wielki around 1350. In 1657, the Swedes destroyed the castle by blowing it up, leaving only the octagonal tower. A legend is associated with it, telling of King Popiel, who was eaten by mice.
